These Terms of Service ("Terms") form an agreement between you and Maurvolt Electrical Services Inc. ("Maurvolt", "we", "us", or "our"). By using our website, submitting an estimate request, or engaging us for electrical work, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.
1. About these Terms
These Terms apply to our website and to the electrical services we provide. A separate written quote, work order, or service agreement may set out additional terms specific to your project. If there is a conflict between these Terms and a signed written agreement for a specific project, the signed agreement governs that project.
2. Use of our website
You may use our website for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:
- use the site in any way that breaches applicable laws or regulations;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to, interfere with, or disrupt the site or its servers;
- submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information; or
- copy, reproduce, or republish content from the site without our permission.
The website is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
3. Estimates & quotes
Submitting the online estimate form, or contacting us by phone, text, or email, is a request for service — it does not create a contract or guarantee a booking. Any estimate or quote we provide is based on the information available to us at the time and on a reasonable assessment of the work. Final pricing may change if site conditions, scope, materials, code requirements, or hidden issues differ from what was assumed. Unless stated otherwise, quotes are valid for 30 days.
4. Bookings & scheduling
A booking is confirmed only when we have agreed on the work and scheduled it with you. We will make reasonable efforts to attend at the scheduled time, but appointment windows are estimates and may be affected by prior jobs, emergencies, weather, supply availability, or other factors beyond our control. We will let you know as soon as reasonably possible if a change is needed.
5. Our services
Maurvolt provides residential and commercial electrical services, which may include EV charger installation, panel upgrades, emergency fault finding, renovation and basement electrical, and related work. All work is performed by, or under the supervision of, qualified personnel in accordance with the applicable edition of the Canadian Electrical Code and Alberta requirements. Required permits and inspections will be arranged as appropriate; some fees may be charged to you and disclosed in your quote.
6. Pricing & payment
- Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are subject to applicable taxes (GST).
- Payment is due as set out in your quote or invoice. Unless otherwise agreed, invoices are due upon completion of the work.
- For larger projects we may require a deposit or progress payments.
- Overdue accounts may be subject to interest and reasonable collection costs, to the extent permitted by law.
- We may pause or withhold work or warranty coverage while an account is overdue.
7. Cancellations & rescheduling
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us as much notice as possible. We may charge a reasonable fee for missed appointments, late cancellations, or for materials specially ordered for your project, where applicable. Any such fees will be communicated to you.
8. Workmanship & warranty
We stand behind our workmanship. We will, within the warranty period stated in your quote or invoice (or, if none is stated, for a reasonable period as required by law), correct defects in our workmanship at no additional labour charge. This warranty does not cover:
- manufacturer-supplied products and equipment, which carry their own manufacturer warranties;
- damage caused by misuse, alteration, neglect, or work performed by others;
- pre-existing wiring or conditions outside the scope of the work we performed; or
- normal wear and tear, or damage from events beyond our control.
9. Your responsibilities
To help us complete your work safely and on time, you agree to:
- provide accurate information about your property and the work required;
- ensure safe and reasonable access to the work area;
- disclose known hazards (for example, asbestos, hidden wiring, or structural issues); and
- obtain any necessary permissions where the property is not solely owned by you.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Alberta law, Maurvolt's total liability arising out of or relating to any project or these Terms is limited to the amount you paid for the services giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profit, revenue, or data. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for personal injury or death caused by negligence, or for fraud. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
11. Intellectual property
All content on our website — including text, graphics, logos, the Maurvolt name and marks, and images — is owned by or licensed to Maurvolt and is protected by applicable laws. You may not use it without our prior written permission.
12. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms and any dispute arising from them or from our services are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Alberta. You agree that the courts of Alberta have exclusive jurisdiction, and you submit to the venue of the courts located in Edmonton, Alberta.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when they were last revised. Changes take effect when posted on this page. Your continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
